Our Story
In 1984, Andrea Bry opened The Boot & Bridle Tack Shop out of her parents' back yard, a humble beginning for what would become a decades-long labor of love. At the time, Andrea was a full-time school teacher with a lifelong passion for horses. She hadn't bought her first horse until after college: an off-the-track Thoroughbred who started it all.
Along the way, she met her husband Mike, a commercial fisherman who, after retiring from life on the water, traded his nets for tack and joined the business by her side. Together, they built The Boot & Bridle into the trusted equestrian destination it is today. This year, they celebrate 43 years in business, a testament to the community that has supported them every step of the way.
Rooted in the Equestrian Community
Our boutique shop is nestled in Cape May County, New Jersey — a carefully curated space where riders can browse premium tack, apparel, and one-of-a-kind goods in a welcoming, unhurried environment. But we don't stay put for long.
Our mobile tack trailer takes The Boot & Bridle on the road, from local schooling shows throughout South Jersey to rated competitions up and down the East Coast — including the prestigious Devon Horse Show, where you'll find us every year. Wherever great riding happens, we aim to be there.
We're also proud sponsors of the Boot & Bridle Medal Final, hosted by The English Circuit of South Jersey. This qualifier-based medal class gives riders in our community a meaningful goal to work toward throughout the season. We donate beautiful prizes to celebrate their hard-earned achievements. It's one of our favorite ways to give back to the sport that has given us so much.
